A film about Clifford Irving (played by Richard Gere), the man who wrote and sold a bogus biography about billionaire aviator Howard Hughes to McGraw-Hill. The film is based on Irving's published account of his wrongdoing, for which he was given a 2½-year prison sentence in 1972. Alfred Molina, Marcia Gay Harden and Hope Davis co-star in this character driven drama.
